I Choose
My three year old daughter still sleeps in our bed.
This morning I woke up earlier than her and stared at her for a bit.
I do not need to rush anywhere in the morning.
Freedom.
My morning intention is to nourish my family for the hours ahead.
My other morning intention is coffee.
Freedom.
I made a colorful salad for breakfast.
Then I took a long walk with my lover to get some morning sun.
Freedom.
A workout.
A stretch.
A shower.
A meeting.
I decide to order lunch.
Freedom.
Homemade afternoon chai lattes, sweetened to perfection.
Ayana picks a book.
I sit in her room while she naps.
I get lost down a rabbit home of nicoise salad recipes.
Freedom.
I have office hours but no clients today.
I lay on the bed and write.
My soundtrack: the rain.
Freedom.
My evening intention is replenishment.
I keep dinner simple.
We throw on a movie while I tidy up.
Freedom.
I look at my family.
Freedom.
Look at this life.
Freedom.
This life I choose.
Freedom.
This life I choose freedom.
Freedom. Freedom. Freedom.
